Recently honored with the 2009 BMI Foundation Jerry Bock Award for Best New Musical, the creative team behind The New Group's spring production The Kid will discuss their collaborative process and the challenges they faced adapting renowned sex columnist Dan Savage's memoir, The Kid: What Happened After My Boyfriend and I Decided to Get Pregnant, into a new musical. Selections from Savage's memoir will be read, and Jack Lechner (lyrics), Andy Monroe (music) and Michael Zam (book) will perform a sneak preview of their work!
