New Group artist and director of A Lie of the Mind, ETHAN HAWKE will host readings of excerpts from Sam Shepard's plays and discuss the use of music with his work. Selected texts will be performed with musical accompaniment by Lie composers Latham and Shelby Gaines.

About New Group Artist Ethan Hawke
Ethan Hawke, star of the upcoming film Daybreakers and writer/director of such films as The Hottest State and Straight to One, first became associated with The New Group as an actor in the acclaimed production of HurlyBurly (2005). In 2007, Hawke made his directorial debut with The New Group's production of Jonathan Marc Sherman's Things We Want. Hawke was the 2008-2009 recipient of the Michael Mendelson Award for Outstanding Commitment to Theater and is a member of The New Group Board of Directors.
